I can relate to the feeling that TS enforces lots of kung fu that's just not part of the solution to the problem one is working on, but just adds to the problem, albeit being totally not business-related.

And that is costing money. If someone feels TS is helping with their productivity then I'd challenge that by asking how much more time everything takes to setup and maintain properly (talking only about the toolchain) and how much more time then is spent on satisfying that same toolchain with every feature one codes...🤔

If TS is the only way for you to grant quality software then it's the same as if you were referring James Joices' Ulysses when asked for an example of concise and short language.

I don't much favor JS either, but having good ties with Ruby gives me some perspective. That and working with C# from its very first beta to something around 2016...

So please don't answer with me missing out on the pure joys of typed languages etc. Been there, done that.
